✨ FEATURES AND PERFORMANCE:
-
7 Working Widths Available: from 50 mm to 120 mm, covering almost any board or panel thickness used in furniture and solid wood construction.
-
Precise and Strong Joints: teeth with 4 mm depth and 4 mm pitch increase the glue contact surface, ensuring even bonding and superior mechanical hold.
-
Efficient Economical Solution: DS Steel inserts are the rational option for small workshops, small-batch production or joinery work that needs a reliable tool without a high purchase cost.
-
Universal Bore with Bushes Included: Ø32 mm standard, with 2 reducing bushes for Ø30 mm included — immediate compatibility with both spindle sizes.
-
Treated and Oxidized Body: increased corrosion resistance and a professional look.
⚠️ LIMITATIONS IN USE (DS STEEL):
-
❌ NOT recommended for chipboard, MDF, HDF or exotic wood! Intended exclusively for natural softwood (conifers, lime, etc.).
- For industrial volumes or hardwood, choose the superior HSS M2 or HW (K40) variants.
-
Ideal for: joinery workshops, solid wood countertops and furniture, softwood-based projects.
📊 COMPATIBILITY BY MATERIAL TYPE (DS STEEL)
Softwood (Fir, Spruce, Pine, Lime) 90%
Good / economical: solid results on softwoods, the ideal low-cost option.
Hardwood (Beech, Oak, Ash) 40%
Poor: inserts dull quickly on hardwoods – we recommend HSS M2 or HW (K40) for this case.
Chipboard / MDF / HDF / Composite Not recommended
The synthetic binder prematurely wears the DS Steel inserts.
💡 Conclusion: working on standard fir or spruce pieces? The DS Steel variant is the perfect choice cost-wise. For hardwoods or large industrial volumes, HSS M2 and HW (K40) variants are available in our catalogue.
🦺 SAFETY MEASURES IN USE:
-
Mandatory protective equipment: safety glasses (flying chips), mask or respirator filter (fine wood dust) and ear protection for prolonged work.
-
Mind your hands: use push sticks and guides; never guide the workpiece by hand close to the cutter.
-
Check the clamping of the cutter and bushes on the spindle, and that the nut is fully tightened before starting.
-
Observe the recommended speed (6,000 RPM) to avoid vibration or damage to the inserts.
-
Do not force the feed on hardwoods — DS Steel inserts dull quickly under excessive pressure; reduce the feed rate or choose another material variant.
