Diameter: 180 mm | Thickness: 18 mm | HW (K40) brazed
This high-performance cutter is specifically designed for creating clean and precise grooves and rebates in a wide range of materials – from solid wood to engineered panels.
🔧 Technical specifications:
Outer diameter: 180 mm
Cutting thickness: 18 mm
Brazed HW (K40) tungsten carbide cutting edges – excellent wear resistance and long lifespan
🛠️ Material compatibility:
Soft and hard wood – clean cuts in any species
MDF – ideal for machining without fiber tear-out
Particleboard – precise grooves in agglomerated panels
✅ Advantages:
Industrial durability – HW (K40) cutting edges ensure long-lasting machining even under intensive use
Workshop versatility – performs flawlessly on multiple material types
Precision in execution – essential for grooves and rebates required in furniture construction, frames, or technical structures
📌 It is recommended to use on equipment compatible with the specified diameter and spindle, observing the appropriate rotation speeds for the material being processed.
Compatibility:
Explanation of compatibility (%) for HW (K40) cemented carbide cutters:
• 92–85%: Exceptional performance, the cutter works efficiently, with a long lifespan even under intensive use conditions.
• 84–70%: Very good processing, but minor adjustments may be necessary, such as feed rate or the use of a coolant to prevent overheating.
• 70%: Wood is extremely abrasive (e.g., very hard species or those with high silicon content), which can accelerate cutting edge wear, although durability remains superior to HSS cutters.
✅ Recommendation: For the hardest wood species (exotic, high-density, or rich in mineral resins), HW (K40) cutters are the ideal solution due to their high hardness (85…92 HRC / 1600 – 1800 HV Vickers), offering exceptional resistance to wear and high temperatures.
