Professional router bit for decorative frames, ideal for precise decorative profiles in furniture, doors, skirting boards, and picture frames. Constructed with brazed HSS M2 (6.5% tungsten) inserts, it offers clean cuts, high durability, and can be resharpened or re-equipped with new inserts—a long-term investment.
Key Features:
• Fine ornamental profile, without fiber tear-out
• Durable and replaceable HSS M2 inserts
• Compatible with spindle bores D30 / D35 / D40 mm
• Stable cutting and professional finish
Applications: furniture frames, decorative doors, skirting boards, and picture frames.
🛠 Ideal for workshops seeking quality, precision, and reduced long-term costs. The router bit fits most standard spindle moulders and is suitable for both manual work and CNC machines with moderate feed rates.
⚠️ LIMITATIONS IN USE (HSS M2):
- ❌ We do not recommend the HSS version for chipboard, MDF, HDF or very hard exotic wood.
- For composite materials or demanding applications, choose the version with HW (K40) carbide inserts.
📊 COMPATIBILITY BY MATERIAL TYPE (HSS M2)
Softwood (Spruce, Fir, Pine, Linden)90%
Optimal performance: the cutter works efficiently and durably, with a clean finish and no burn marks.
Medium Wood (Cherry, Walnut, Maple)80%
Very good: precise results, moderate cutting edge wear.
Hardwood (Beech, Oak, Ash)65%
Good: requires maintenance (more frequent resharpening, moderate feed).
Exotic / Chipboard / MDF / HDFNot recommended
Very hard or oily wood and synthetic binders quickly wear the HSS M2 edge — choose the HW (K40) version.
🦺 SAFETY MEASURES:
- Mandatory protective equipment: safety glasses (against flying chips), mask or respirator (fine wood dust) and hearing protection for prolonged work.
- Watch your hands and fingers: always use a push stick or feed device; never guide the workpiece by hand near the cutter.
- Check the clamping of the cutter on the spindle and full tightening of the nut before starting the machine.
- Check the direction of rotation and the condition of the inserts (no cracks or chips) before each use.
- Respect the recommended speed of 9000 rpm – exceeding it increases the risk of vibration and cutting edge damage.
- Resharpening: we recommend resharpening at a specialized service center to preserve the ornamental profile geometry.
