⚠️ USAGE LIMITATIONS:

  • ❌ We do NOT recommend the HSS variant for particleboard, MDF, HDF or very hard exotic wood.
  • For composite materials or demanding applications: choose the HW (K40) variant from our catalogue.

📊 COMPATIBILITY BY MATERIAL TYPE (HSS M2)

Softwood (Fir, Spruce, Pine, Lime) 100%
Excellent: optimal performance, the cutter works efficiently and durably.
Hardwood (Beech, Light Oak) 75%
Good: efficient machining, but requires more frequent maintenance (sharpening or cooling).
Exotic / Very Hard / Oily Wood Below 60%
Wood that is too hard or oily causes rapid wear of the HSS M2 cutter.

💡 Recommendation: for exotic or very hard woods, HW (K40) carbide cutters are the more suitable choice. The cutter fits most standard spindle moulders.

🦺 SAFETY MEASURES:

  • Mandatory protective equipment: safety glasses, a respirator mask or filter (fine wood dust) and hearing protection for extended work.
  • Follow the set's mounting order: the 8 cutters and 4 spacer rings must be mounted exactly in the order shown in the technical drawing – a wrong order changes the final profile and can unbalance the assembly.
  • Check the mounting of the entire stack and that the spindle nut is tightened before starting the machine.
  • Observe the recommended speed of 9,000 RPM to avoid vibration or the risk of edge breakage.
  • Resharpening: we recommend having it done at a specialised service centre to preserve the profile geometry and the original rake angle on all 8 pieces.
