5-Piece Profile-Counterprofile Cutter Set for Interior Doors (40–44 mm) – HSS M2
Advanced professional set consisting of 5 cutters — 2 large D160 mm cutters (profile-counterprofile), 2 small D120 mm cutters and 1 D120×12 mm groove cutter — plus 1 x 12 mm ring used when mounting the counterprofile. Designed for making interior doors with a thickness between 40 and 44 mm. The profile width of the cutters covers this range directly, without complicated adjustments. All cutters are brazed with HSS M2 inserts.

🚀 PROPERTIES AND DYNAMIC PERFORMANCE:
-
Advanced 5-Piece Set: the configuration with 2 large D160 mm cutters, 2 small D120 mm cutters and 1 D120×12 mm groove cutter covers the entire door profile — from the outer contour to the panel groove — with no additional tools.
-
40–44 mm Range from the Profile Width: the profile cutters' own width covers the entire 40–44 mm range directly, without complicated adjustment accessories or multiple rings.
-
12 mm Ring for the Counterprofile: the ring included in the set is mounted when cutting the counterprofile, ensuring correct positioning of the cutters on the spindle.
-
60 mm Tenon Depth: the counterprofile cutter produces a 60 mm deep tenon — suitable for solid structural joints on thicker doors, where a 36 mm tenon would be insufficient.
-
Dedicated Groove Cutter (D120×12 mm): 12 mm groove for fitting the central panel, structurally matched to the profile of the other 4 cutters in the set.
-
High-Quality Brazed Cutting Edge: all 5 cutters are professionally brazed with HSS M2 inserts, ensuring high mechanical shock resistance and flawless finishes without fibre tear-out.
-
Dynamic Balancing: reduces vibration on the machine spindle, protecting the drive bearings and ensuring a perfectly smooth surface, ready for painting or varnishing.
⚠️ LIMITATIONS IN USE (HSS M2):
-
Wood-Based Panel Restriction: ❌ NOT recommended for chipboard, MDF, HDF or exotic wood! The synthetic binder in these materials will prematurely wear the high-speed steel cutting edge.
-
Intended Use: the set is optimized for natural solid wood (softwoods and common hardwoods) — for composite or particle-based panels, contact us for the equivalent HW (K40) version on request.
🛠️ HOW THE 40–44 MM RANGE WORKS:
The profile width of the large and small cutters is dimensioned to cover the 40–44 mm range directly, with no extra adjustments at the usual working thickness. The included 12 mm ring is used only when mounting the counterprofile, according to the attached technical drawing.
📊 COMPATIBILITY BY MATERIAL TYPE (HSS M2)
Softwood (Spruce, Fir, Pine, Lime)
100%
Excellent: immaculate white finish, no burn marks – the ideal choice for spruce, fir or pine doors.
Hardwood (Beech, Oak, Ash)
80%
Good: efficient results, the cutting edge wears faster than on softwoods.
Chipboard / MDF / HDF / Laminated
Not recommended
The synthetic binder prematurely wears the HSS cutting edge.
🦺 SAFETY MEASURES IN USE:
-
Mandatory protective equipment: safety glasses (against flying chips), mask or respirator filter (fine wood dust) and ear protection for prolonged work.
-
Mind your hands and fingers: keep a safe distance from the cutting zone and use feed/push devices where possible; never reach by hand near rotating cutters.
-
Follow the set's mounting order: the 5 pieces must be mounted exactly in the order shown on the technical drawing for the desired thickness – a wrong order changes the final profile and can unbalance the assembly.
-
Check the clamping of the whole 5-piece stack and the tightening of the spindle nut before starting the machine.
-
Observe the recommended speed of 6,000 – 9,000 RPM, to avoid vibration or risk of cutting edge breakage.
-
Resharpening: we recommend resharpening at a specialized service centre, to preserve the profile geometry and the original rake angle on all 5 pieces.
