✨ TECHNICAL ADVANTAGES:
- Z1 Flute – Rapid Chip Evacuation: a single active cutter ensures large gaps for quick material removal from the groove, reducing the risk of overheating at deep depths.
- T.C.T. Vidia – Maximum Versatility: carbide resists wear on both solid wood (soft and hard) and wood-based panels (MDF, particleboard, plywood), without the rapid wear characteristic of high-speed steel.
- Precision for Fine Details: the 4 mm diameter allows for creating narrow grooves, hardware recesses, drawer bottoms, and other precision details.
- Available in Two Shank Variants: Ø6 mm and Ø8 mm for compatibility with standard collets of most routers and CNCs.
⚠️ Important recommendation: due to the small diameter/depth ratio (4 mm D / 12 mm Lc), create deep grooves in successive passes of 3–4 mm with moderate feed. This prevents the router bit body from breaking under lateral pressure and ensures an impeccable finish.
⚠️ USAGE LIMITATIONS:
- Do not force the feed: at D4 mm, excessive lateral pressure can break the router bit body – respect successive passes of a maximum of 3–4 mm depth per pass.
- Vidia on soft wood: requires constant feed – stalling in rotation on resinous essences (spruce, fir) can cause local burning due to friction.
- Not suitable for: large diameter cuts, splitting, or operations with intense lateral pressure.
📊 COMPATIBILITY LEVEL BY MATERIAL TYPE (T.C.T. VIDIA)
MDF / Particleboard / HDF / Plywood 100%
Optimal: resists the abrasive wear of synthetic binder, clean and precise groove.
Hard Wood (Beech, Oak, Ash) 100%
Excellent: carbide resists on dense essences, perfectly flat groove bottom.
Soft Wood (Spruce, Fir, Pine) 80%
Good: works, but requires constant feed to avoid friction burns.
Composite & Exotic Materials 100%
Maximum: the recommended choice for demanding materials.
🦺 SAFETY MEASURES IN USE:
- Mandatory protective equipment: safety glasses (high-speed projected chips), mask or respirator (fine MDF/wood dust), and earmuffs.
- Successive passes: do not attempt to achieve the full depth of 12 mm in a single pass – you risk breaking the router bit and projecting shards.
- Check collet clamping: ensure the router bit shank is fully inserted and properly tightened in the collet before starting – a loosely clamped router bit vibrates and can come out of the collet during operation.
- Maintain constant feed and do not stall the router bit in rotation on the same spot.
- Be careful with hands and fingers: for shank router bits, the distance to the cutting area is smaller than for bore router bits – use guides and workpiece clamping devices.
