⚠️ Usage Limitations:
❌ We do not recommend the HSS variant for chipboard, MDF, HDF or very hard exotic wood
❌ For composite materials or demanding applications, choose the variant with Carbide inserts
🛠️ Selection Guide: HSS vs. CARBIDE (Brazed Tools)
The choice of material depends not only on wood hardness but also on how the cutting edge interacts with the grain. Our brazed cutters are optimized for stationary and CNC machines, but their performance varies drastically depending on the processed wood species.
✅ Conclusions for purchase:
- Standard HSS: Exclusively for very soft species (Spruce, Fir, Pine, Lime). Economical, fine cut.
- HSS M2: The "King" of softwoods. Guarantees immaculate white without burns. Also works on Oak/Beech for a mirror finish, but wears faster.
- Carbide (CMS): Mandatory for hard/exotic species (Oak, Beech, Mahogany) and derivatives (MDF, Chipboard, Plywood). Resists thousands of meters without sharpening.
⚠️ Attention: Carbide requires constant feed. If you dwell in rotation on softwood, burning is guaranteed.
