💎 WHY CHOOSE THIS ROUTER BIT:
- Integrated Handles, No Metal Accessories: the profile is made directly into the edge of the cabinet or drawer front, eliminating the need for applied handles – clean, minimalist, modern design.
- Profile Versatility: available in several geometry models from stock – see attached technical drawings to choose the right profile for your project.
- Can be used along the entire length of the edge or only on a defined section of the front.
- Dynamic Balance: the router bit body is precisely machined to eliminate vibrations, protecting the machine's bearings.
- Long-Term Investment: the inserts can be resharpened, and in case of advanced wear, the router bit body can be re-brazed.
💡 Usage tip: for an impeccable result on hardwoods or MDF, we recommend a constant feed and, where applicable, a 0.5 mm finishing pass.
⚠️ LIMITATIONS IN USE:
- HSS M2 variant: ❌ not recommended for particleboard, MDF, HDF or very hard exotic wood – the synthetic binder prematurely wears the high-speed steel cutting edge.
- T.C.T. Vidia variant on soft wood: requires constant feed – stopping in rotation on resinous woods can cause local burns.
🛠️ SELECTION GUIDE: HSS M2 vs. T.C.T. VIDIA
The choice of material directly influences the quality of the finish and the tool's lifespan (swipe left-right on mobile to see the complete table):
| Processed Material | HSS M2 Premium (6.5% W / P6M5) |
T.C.T. Vidia ⭐ (Cemented Carbides) |
|---|---|---|
| Soft Wood (Spruce, Fir, Pine) |
⭐ 100% (No Burns) |
❌ Risk of burning (Constant feed mandatory) |
| Hard Wood (Beech, Oak, Ash) |
80% (Efficient) |
⭐ 100% (Resistant) |
| MDF / Particleboard / HDF / Melamine | Not Recommended | ⭐ 100% (Optimal) |
| Exotic Wood / Composites | Prohibited | ⭐ 100% (Maximum) |
| Knots in Wood | ✅ Resistant (HSS absorbs shock) |
⚠️ Risk of chipping (carbide is hard, but fragile to shock) |
| Active Insert Thickness | 6 mm (Maximum) | 3 mm |
| Cutting Edge Hardness | 64 – 66 HRC | 85 – 92 HRC |
💡 Conclusions for purchase:
- Working with Spruce, Fir, or Pine? Choose HSS M2 – immaculate white finish, no burn marks, resistant to knots.
- Working with Oak, Beech, MDF, or melaminated particleboard? Choose T.C.T. Vidia – resists abrasive wear and ensures clean edges on derived materials.
- Which model to choose? Consult the attached technical drawings to compare the available geometries and select the appropriate profile for your furniture front.
🦺 SAFETY MEASURES IN USE:
- Mandatory protective equipment: safety glasses (flying chips), mask or respirator (fine wood/MDF dust), and ear protection for prolonged work.
- Beware of hands and fingers: use guides and feed/push devices; do not manually guide the workpiece near the router bit.
- Check the router bit's fixation on the spindle and the nut's complete tightening before starting.
- Observe the recommended speed of 6,000 RPM.
- Resharpening: we recommend resharpening at a specialized center to maintain the original profile geometry of the handle.
