🚀 DYNAMIC PROPERTIES AND PERFORMANCE:
- Resistance to Abrasive Materials: the carbide (Vidia) blade, with a hardness of up to 92 HRC, is designed to withstand the abrasive binders and adhesives in MDF, chipboard, HDF, or OSB panels.
- High-Productivity Z6 Configuration: the 6 Vidia cutting edges evenly distribute the mechanical load during cutting, ensuring precise groove geometry and constant feed without axis vibrations.
- Silver-Based Brazing: the silver alloy (Ag) used for brazing absorbs micro-shocks from hard layered materials, preventing cracking or detachment of the inserts.
- Sustainability and Reusability: the robust special steel body allows for professional re-brazing with new inserts at a specialized center after the carbide is completely worn.
- Flexible Configuration: choose the exact desired groove or rebate thickness (4–60 mm) and bore diameter directly from the available variants on the product page.
⚠️ CRITICAL OPERATING RULES (T.C.T. VIDIA):
- Optimal Application: specifically designed for MDF, chipboard, HDF, laminated wood, hardwoods, and composite materials.
- Softwood Caution: ❌ on very soft wood (fir, spruce), the tool requires a fast and constant feed!
- Avoid Overheating: dwelling in place with the cutter rotating directly on resinous woods can cause localized burning due to specific friction and the density of the metal carbide.
📊 COMPATIBILITY GRADE BY MATERIAL TYPE (T.C.T. VIDIA)
MDF / Chipboard / HDF / Laminated
100%
Optimal: resistant to abrasive wear from the synthetic binder in these panels.
Hardwood (Beech, Oak, Ash)
100%
Excellent: the cutting edge lasts for thousands of linear meters without frequent resharpening.
Composite & Exotic Materials
100%
Maximum: the recommended choice for demanding applications.
Softwood (Fir, Spruce, Pine)
Fast Feed Required
Functional, but with risk of burning due to friction if the feed is not constant and fast.
💡 For work predominantly on softwoods (fir, spruce, pine), the equivalent variant with HSS M2 inserts is also available.
🦺 SAFETY MEASURES IN USE:
- Mandatory protective equipment: safety glasses (against projected chips), mask or respiratory filter (fine wood dust and MDF/chipboard dust), and ear protection for prolonged work.
- Attention to hands and fingers: maintain a safe distance from the cutting area and use feed/pushing devices where possible; do not intervene manually near the moving cutter.
- Maintain a constant feed, especially on soft wood, to avoid the cutter dwelling in rotation and the risk of fiber burning.
- Check the cutter's fixation on the arbor before starting the machine.
- Observe the recommended speed (6,000 – 9,000 RPM) – do not exceed the indicated value to avoid vibrations or damage to the inserts.
