This large-diameter router bit is an essential industrial tool for any woodworking shop working with solid wood, unique slabs, or modern "River Table" design projects. Specifically designed for flattening, calibrating, and leveling extensive surfaces, the bit offers extremely fast material removal and a clean finish, saving hours of tedious manual sanding. Available in three cutting diameters (D50, D60, D80 mm), each with Ø8 mm or Ø12 mm shank options – select your desired combination from the menu.

⚠️ CRITICAL SAFETY WARNING (MUST READ):
Due to the geometric ratio between the large diameter of the cutting head and the thinner shank, the centrifugal force during rotation is very high – and increases with the chosen diameter (D80 is more demanding than D50).

NEVER run this bit at the maximum speed of your router! If used incorrectly (too high speeds or deep cuts), the steel shank can instantly bend due to centrifugal imbalance, destroying the tool and putting you at risk. Strictly adhere to the maximum speeds indicated for each variant, presented below!

🎯 MAIN WORKSHOP USES:

  • Slab Flattening: levels and perfectly flattens massive tree slices that, due to their width, cannot be fed into classic thickness planers or jointers.
  • Epoxy Resin Processing: ideal for quickly removing excess resin and leveling "River Table" style tables (wood combined with resin).
  • CNC Leveling (Spoilerboard): the perfect solution for periodic milling and rectifying the flatness of the sacrificial table on CNC Router machines.
  • Wide Grooves and Rabbets: creates geometrically precise flat bottoms in recessed cavities or wide shoulders in a single pass.
  • D60 and D80 Variants: recommended for very large surfaces, where wider coverage with each pass significantly reduces the total flattening time.

💡 STRICT OPERATING RULES: How to avoid shank bending and achieve a mirror finish

To maintain the structural integrity of the bit and achieve maximum long-term performance, strictly follow these instructions:

🔄 1. Speed Setting: Reduce Machine Speed! Due to the large diameter of the cutting head, the peripheral speed at the edge of the insert is very high, and the risk increases with larger diameters. Consult the recommended speed table below for each D / S combination. Never exceed the maximum indicated value!
📐 2. Depth of Cut: Small and Successive Passes Do not try to correct large slab variations in a single rough pass. Set the machine for successive passes of maximum 1.5 mm – 2 mm deep per pass. This completely eliminates the risk of overloading or bending the steel shank and prevents vibrations. For D60 and D80 variants, we even recommend more conservative passes (1 mm – 1.5 mm), due to the larger mass of the cutting head.
🏎️ 3. Constant Feed (No Dwelling) Since the bit is carbide and has 6 teeth, maintain a constant and firm feed motion. If you stop in place while the bit is rotating on wood or resin, localized friction will instantly generate burns on the wood and overheat the tool's cutting edges.

⚠️ The values in the table are maximum recommended limits, not fixed working values. Always start from the minimum speed of the range and increase progressively, monitoring tool vibrations.
