R8 Round Profile Paneling Router Bit Set with Conical Joint (14–25 mm) | HSS M2 Premium
Set of 2 profile router bits for creating paneling with an R8 round profile and a conical joint — when two adjacent boards are installed, a visible gap of ~10 mm is formed between them, characteristic of modern spaced paneling styles. The profile is self-adapting for wood thicknesses between 14–25 mm, adjustable solely by the machine spindle height, without spacer rings. Available in versions for classic spindle moulders (D130, d30) and for four-sided planers (D160, d40).

📐 SELECTION GUIDE – WHICH VARIANT TO CHOOSE:
- D130 mm / d30 / Z4 – Classic Spindle Moulder: the standard variant for single-spindle moulders. Ø30 mm bore standard; Ø35 mm or Ø40 mm on request.
- D160 mm / d40 / Z6 – 4-Sided Planers: the larger diameter and 6 teeth are calculated for the industrial speeds and feeds of 4-sided planers. Ø40 mm bore standard.
- Self-Adapting 14–20 mm: you do not need spacer rings — adjust solely by the machine spindle height for any board thickness within the working range.
- Extended Lip on Female Router Bit: allows paneling to be fixed with clamps or nails directly to the structure — convenient, fast, and secure. The conical joint with free space under the nail prevents clogging due to dust or chips.
🚀 PROPERTIES AND PERFORMANCE:
- Visible Gap of ~10 mm at Joint: the conical profile of the router bit creates a regular visible gap of ~10 mm when two adjacent boards are installed — characteristic of modern spaced paneling styles, with a precise and uniform geometric appearance across the entire surface.
- Finish Directly Ready for Varnishing: the HSS M2 cutting edge at 9,000 RPM leaves a smooth, clean surface, without burns or fiber tear-out — even with knotty wood.
- CNC Dynamic Balancing: the router bit body is computer-machined for minimal idle vibrations, protecting the machine spindle and bearings.
- Long-Term Investment: inserts can be successively resharpened; with advanced wear, the router bit body can be re-brazed with new inserts.
⚠️ LIMITATIONS IN USE (HSS M2):
- Exclusive Use – Natural Solid Wood: ❌ NOT recommended for use on particleboard, MDF, HDF, or very hard exotic wood! The synthetic binder prematurely wears out the high-speed steel cutting edge.
- Exotic or Very Hard Woods: for high-density woods, HSS cutting edge wear is faster — resharpening will be more frequent.
📊 COMPATIBILITY GRADE BY MATERIAL TYPE (HSS M2)
Softwood (Spruce, Fir, Pine, Linden) 100%
Excellent: immaculate white finish, no burns – the ideal choice for spruce, fir, or pine paneling.
Hardwood (Beech, Oak, Ash) 80%
Good: efficient results, cutting edge wear is faster than on softwoods.
Exotic / Very Dense Wood 50%
Acceptable: accelerated cutting edge wear, more frequent resharpening needed.
Particleboard / MDF / HDF / Laminated Not Recommended
The synthetic binder prematurely wears out the HSS cutting edge.
🦺 SAFETY MEASURES IN USE:
- Mandatory protective equipment: safety glasses (against projected chips), mask or respirator filter (fine wood dust), and ear protection for prolonged work.
- Attention to hands and fingers: when processing long paneling boards, use pushers and guides; do not guide the workpiece by hand near the router bit.
- Check the fastening of the router bits on the spindle and the complete tightening of the nut before starting the machine.
- Observe the recommended RPM (9,000 RPM) to avoid vibrations or damage to the cutting edge.
- Resharpening: we recommend having it done at a specialized center to maintain the original geometry of the conical profile.
