Round Profile Paneling Router Bit Set | HSS M2 Premium
Set of 2 profiled router bits for creating paneling with a round profile, where the joint between boards is finished with a continuous curve – without a visible groove between them. Available in versions for a single-spindle shaper (D130 mm) and for 4-sided moulders (D140 mm / D160 mm), each in either Up Radius (UR) or Down Radius (DR) variants, selectable from the menu.

📐 SELECTION GUIDE – WHICH VARIANT TO CHOOSE:
- D130 mm – Single-Spindle Shaper: the standard variant for classic shapers with a vertical spindle. Standard Ø30 mm bore.
- D140 mm / D160 mm – 4-Sided Moulders: larger diameters are calculated for the specific speeds and feeds of 4-sided moulders. Standard Ø40 mm bore.
- UR (Up Radius): the workpiece advances with the visible face upwards; the router bit works from bottom to top. Suitable for machines where the paneling slides on the table with the visible face up.
- DR (Down Radius): the workpiece advances with the visible face downwards; the router bit works from top to bottom. Suitable for machines where the paneling is pressed from above.
- Other Sizes or Configurations: for special modifications to diameter, bore, or profile, contact our team before ordering.
🔹 Each variant comes with a specific technical drawing – you can find it by selecting the desired variant from the menu.
🚀 PROPERTIES AND PERFORMANCE:
- Direct Round Profile at Joint: the router bit profiles the edge of the board so that when two paneling pieces are joined, a continuous and elegant rounded profile is created, without a visible groove between them.
- Elegant and Uniform Finish: the precisely curved profile ensures a smooth surface, ready for varnishing or painting, without the need for intensive additional sanding.
- HSS M2 Blade Brazed with Silver (Ag): high mechanical strength, clean cuts without tearing wood fibers, even in more demanding wood species.
- Long-Term Investment: the inserts can be successively resharpened at a specialized center, and if severely worn, the router body can be re-brazed with new inserts.
🔹 Ideal for ceiling and interior wall paneling, decorative elements, and any application where a round profile at the joint gives a premium look to the finished surface.
⚠️ LIMITATIONS IN USE (HSS M2):
- Exclusive Purpose: this variant is intended exclusively for processing natural solid wood.
- Not Recommended for Composites: ❌ NOT recommended for use on chipboard, MDF, HDF, or very hard exotic wood! The synthetic binder prematurely wears out the high-speed steel blade.
- Exotic or Very Hard Woods: for species with high density or high natural oil content, HSS blade wear is faster — more frequent resharpening will be necessary.
📊 COMPATIBILITY RATING BY MATERIAL TYPE (HSS M2)
Softwood (Spruce, Fir, Pine, Linden)
100%
Excellent: clean cut, impeccable finish, no burning on the fiber.
Hardwood (Beech, Oak, Ash)
80%
Good: efficient results, blade wear is faster than on softwoods.
Exotic / Very Dense Wood
50%
Acceptable: accelerated blade wear, more frequent resharpening needed.
Chipboard / MDF / HDF / Laminated
Not Recommended
The synthetic binder prematurely wears out the HSS blade.
🦺 SAFETY MEASURES FOR USE:
- Mandatory protective equipment: safety glasses (against projected chips), mask or respirator (fine wood dust), and ear protection for prolonged work.
- Caution with hands and fingers: when processing long paneling boards, use push sticks and guides; do not manually guide the workpiece near the router bit.
- Check the fastening of the router bits on the spindle and the complete tightening of the nut before starting the machine.
- Observe the recommended speed (6,000 – 9,000 RPM) to avoid vibrations or blade damage.
- Resharpening: we recommend resharpening at a specialized center to maintain the round profile and the original cutting angle of the blade.
