• Selection Example: "8 mm - d30" corresponds to a cutter with an 8 mm width for a 30 mm shaft.

• Precision grooving (slotting) in solid wood (soft and hard species) and blockboard.

• Optimal for use on stationary spindle molders/shapers with manual or mechanical feed.

• ❌ We do not recommend the HSS version for Chipboard (PAL), MDF, HDF, or extremely hard exotic woods.

• ❌ For composite materials or high-demand applications, please choose our Carbide (Vidia) tipped version.

🛠️ Selection Guide: HSS vs. CARBIDE (Brazed Tools) Choosing the right material depends not only on the hardness of the wood but also on how the edge interacts with the fiber. Our brazed cutters are optimized for stationary machines and CNCs, but their performance varies drastically depending on the processed wood species.

• Standard HSS: Exclusively for very soft species (Spruce, Fir, Pine, Lime). Economic, fine edge.

• HSS M2: The "King" of softwoods. Guarantees pristine white finish without burns. Also works on Oak/Beech for a mirror finish, but wears out faster.

• Carbide (Vidia/CMS): Mandatory for hardwoods/exotic species (Oak, Beech, Mahogany) and wood derivatives (MDF, Chipboard, Plywood). Lasts thousands of meters without sharpening.

• ⚠️ Note: Carbide requires a constant feed rate. If held stationary while rotating on softwood, burning is guaranteed.
