Professional set of 4 adjustable cutter bodies (2+2), designed specifically for producing solid exterior log-siding cladding (V-joint profile) on 4-side moulding and planing machines. Built for face-down machining, the set delivers a constant depth setting and a flawless finish on the visible wood surface. Optimized for a nominal thickness of 30 mm, but usable for workpieces between 25 and 35 mm. The 0.25 mm spacer rings allow fine adjustment of the tongue and groove, and the conical profile with a 45° bevel forms a decorative V-channel at the joint, open at 90°.

⚠️ USAGE LIMITATIONS (HSS M2):

  • ❌ For solid natural wood only – NOT recommended for particleboard, MDF, HDF, or very hard exotic wood. Synthetic binders wear out the high-speed steel edge prematurely.
  • ❌ Exclusively for 4-side machines, Ø40 mm bore – not compatible with standard table-router shafts of Ø30 mm or Ø32 mm.
  • Maintain a constant, steady feed rate — stopping the tool in contact with the material causes burn marks on the profile surface that are difficult to remove without re-machining.

Softwood (Spruce, Fir, Pine) 100%

Excellent: the standard species for exterior cladding — clean white finish, no burning, ready to treat.
Hardwood (Beech, Oak, Ash) 80%

Good: efficient results, but edge wear is faster than on softwoods — more frequent resharpening needed.
Particleboard / MDF / HDF / Laminate Not Recommended

Synthetic binders wear out the HSS edge prematurely.

🦺 SAFETY MEASURES:

  • Mandatory protective equipment: safety glasses, respiratory mask (fine, possibly resinous wood dust), and hearing protection for extended work on 4-side machines.
  • Check the cutters and spacer rings on the shaft and the full tightness of the nuts before start-up — incorrect ring adjustment can cause imbalance and vibration.
  • Constant feed rate: do not stop the machine with the cutters in contact with the material — risk of burning and edge damage.
  • Resharpening: we recommend having this done at a specialized center, to preserve the exact geometry of the conical profile and the 45° bevel angle.
