Set of 4 adjustable cutters for the 4-sided moulder, made for producing profiled log beams for log houses and cabins. The set machines the top and bottom faces of the beam: 2 tongues on one face and 2 grooves on the other, so the log courses fit tightly on top of each other. The same cutters work on logs of Ø160, Ø200 and Ø240 mm – the width is set with the spacer rings included in the set.

🔧 How the set works

  • Top spindle – cutters 3 + 4: machine the top face of the beam with 2 tongues (20 mm at the base, 15 mm at the top, 10 mm high).
  • Bottom spindle – cutters 1 + 2: machine the bottom face with 2 grooves (24 mm opening, 12 mm deep) that receive the tongues of the course below.
  • Adjustment: the knives of each cutter overhang its body, so the two cutters of a pair can be moved together until the knives overlap. The spacer rings (included in the set) go between the bodies and fix the position for Ø160, Ø200 or Ø240.
  • The round sides of the log are not machined by this set – the side spindles stay free.

🦺 Safety

  • Protective equipment: safety glasses, ear protection and a respirator for prolonged work.
  • Mounting: check the spacer ring positions and full tightening of the nut on both spindles before starting.
  • Speed: never exceed the maximum speed marked on the cutter.
  • Resharpening: have the HSS M2 knives resharpened only at a specialised service, to keep the profile and joint clearance.
