Flat (Spade) Wood Drill Bit Set ROTOR RBP9 – 9 Pieces (10–25 mm)
The ROTOR RBP9 set contains 7 flat (spade) drill bits plus 1 extension of 150 mm with Quick Release Shank system — 9 pieces in total, designed for fast, clean and efficient drilling in solid wood (soft and hard species), particleboard, MDF, OSB, plywood, PVC and other composite materials. Thanks to the sharp centering point and lateral cutting edges, each bit delivers a firm bite into the material, without slipping or wandering off-axis.
Made from 45 carbon steel, heat-treated for increased wear and deformation resistance, the bits in the ROTOR RBP9 set cover the most commonly used sizes in installation work, carpentry and framing: from 10 mm to 25 mm, each with a total length of 300 mm. The 6 mm hex shank ensures a firm grip in the chuck or bit holder, preventing slipping (cam-out) even during deep drilling or in high-density wood. The 150 mm extension, with quick-release system, allows access to hard-to-reach areas without swapping the bit.

💎 KEY ADVANTAGES:
- Quick-Release Extension Included: extends reach by 150 mm for drilling in hard-to-reach spots, without having to swap the bit out of the chuck.
- Full Size Range (10–25 mm): a single set covers most common jobs around the house or on site — from electrical cable and pipe runs to hinge recesses or wood joints.
- Faster Drilling: the flat, spade-shaped profile clears chips quickly and advances much faster than standard twist bits.
- Slip-Resistant Hex Shank: the shaped shank transfers maximum torque from the drill to the bit, eliminating the risk of it spinning freely in the chuck.
- Precision Centering Point: prevents the bit from wandering at the start of the hole, allowing drilling exactly on the marked spot.
⚠️ USAGE LIMITATIONS:
- ❌ DO NOT use on metal, stone, concrete or ceramic — flat bits are designed exclusively for wood and wood-derived materials.
- Deep holes or large diameters (over 20 mm): reduce speed and periodically retract the bit to clear chips — avoid jamming and overheating.
- Rougher finish than standard twist bits: suited for functional holes (cable runs, joints), not for fine decorative precision holes.
💡 WORKSHOP TIP:
To avoid splintering or breaking the wood on the exit face when drilling through, stop advancing exactly when the centering point emerges on the opposite side, then finish the hole by drilling from that opposite side.
🦺 SAFETY MEASURES:
- ❌ DO NOT wear gloves while drilling — the risk of a glove catching in the rotating bit is real, especially at large diameters; a bare hand reacts instinctively, a glove does not.
- Secure the workpiece firmly (vise or clamps) before drilling — a flat bit, with its aggressive profile, can violently spin an unsecured piece.
- Wear safety glasses — chips and shavings are thrown with force, especially at large diameters or high speeds.
- Check the bit is properly seated in the chuck before starting — an incomplete grip on the hex shank causes vibration and radial wobble.
- Reduce speed at large diameters (over 20 mm) — excessive speed increases the risk of the drill being wrenched from your hands if it catches in the material.
- Do not force the feed through knots or very dense areas — let the bit work at its own pace.
